My sister came from Belize yesterday. Her daughter is getting married on Friday in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

I've been in several weddings and this is the first time I will be going to one on a yacht.

To my niece Clara Wade, I wish you a long and happy marriage. From my experience, I can tell you that the key to a successful marriage is honesty and communications. Be open with your husband even if it is not always what you may want to hear. Once trust is gone, it can take a very long time to regain, if ever at all.

Always be faithful, show respect, and keep the communication line open and clear. When you communicate, clearly explain what is bothering you and then listen to your husband's side without interrupting him. When he is finished, summarize what you heard and empathize even if you don’t agree.

Lastly, keep your sense of humor. “Those who laugh together stay together.” Even when mistakes are made, you need to be able to laugh at each other. Relax, and see you on Friday!!!

Congratulations!! Clara Wade and Andrew Palacios
