VIEW FROM CROOKED TREE VILLAGE: CASHEW TREES IN BLOOM

A stroll in Crooked Tree Village is divine this time of the year because of the brilliant cashew trees in full bloom. The fresh fragrant smell is a reminder that the annual cashew harvest is just a few weeks away.

I can remember (many, years ago) enthusiastically getting up early to gather the cashew nuts before going to school. I can also remember eating some incredibly sweet cashews before breakfast. The best way to eat them is to twist the nut off and stuff the whole fruit in your mouth. April and May is the optimal picking season, and an excellent time of year to visit.
